LOCKSMITH

Mural painted for Art On the Atlanta Beltline 2018’s Beltline Walls on the Westside Trail from
Artist InUs’ Beautiful Lines project, entitled “Locksmith”

Signifying the call upon an artist from a community. The profile portrait depicts the key holder of the numerous cities around the globe. The image is representative of cities being significantly similar to keys, having every town different from the next yet commonly thriving through arts and culture, opening a plethora of doors and opportunities for the people who reside within them. With a respect for diverse unity, the image also implements infusion within basic color combinations and complexity within simple linear design.

Mural painted during Art In The Park Summer Camp 2018 on the facade of The West End
Oakland City Apartments, concocted along with Evolving Arts of America and Chisom Housing
Group from Artist InUs’ The Clubhouse project, entitled “Bonds”

Depicting the relationship between male and female from and early childhood perspective with the essence of pure innocence and imagination, exploring the basics of bonding and building foundation for a future sitting on top of the world.

This work introduces two characters in the fictional world of the artist's creative space, showing the amazing possibilities we can achieve through joining forces with one another, remaining shelter by a single foundation.

The westside bellwood project

Location: The Salvation Army Bellwood Boys and girls Club

Over summer 2017, Artist InUs was elected by WonderRoot as the assistant artist to lead artist Joe Dreher (JoeKingATL) on the Westside Mural project. The project consisted of a total of four Murals on the facade of the entire building, one of which was made from parachute cloth, a poly-tab fabric, making it possible for the young boys and girls of Bellwood to participate in the mural making without working on a scaffold, rather comfortably at tables on sections of the mural, which were later installed like wallpaper on the prepared wall surface. Take the time out to go to the site located at 777 Donald Lee Holowell Parkway Northwest, Atlanta GA 30318. Until then, here are some images that were taken during the process and execution of the project....
